How to Transfer Contacts to a New Phone

New phone. Old contacts. The transfer shouldn't be the hard part.

Whether you're moving from Android to Android, iPhone to iPhone, or switching between the two, Saropa Contacts imports your contacts from multiple sources and catches duplicates along the way.

Your Transfer Options

Saropa can import contacts from:

• Google account — pull contacts from your Gmail/Google account directly.

Step by Step: Transfer Your Contacts

1. Install Saropa on Your New Phone

Download Saropa Contacts from the App Store or Google Play. It's free.

2. Open the Import Screen

From the main menu, tap Import. You'll see all available sources — Google, SIM, vCard file, Facebook, and device contacts.

3. Pick Your Source

Tap the source you want. For example:

• Google: Sign in and Saropa pulls your Google contacts.
• SIM: Saropa reads the SIM card in your phone and lists the contacts.
• vCard: Browse to a .vcf file you exported from your old phone or emailed to yourself.

4. Review Before Importing

Saropa shows you what's coming in and flags potential duplicates. You can skip entries you don't want, merge matches, or import everything.

5. Import

Tap Import and your contacts are added. They sync to your phone's native address book immediately.

Transferring Between Android and iPhone

The cleanest way to move contacts between platforms:

1. On your old phone: Export your contacts as a .vcf (vCard) file. Every phone can do this — check Settings → Contacts → Export.
2. Send the file to your new phone (email it to yourself, AirDrop, or use a USB cable).
3. On your new phone: Open Saropa, tap Import → vCard, and select the file.

What About Duplicates During Transfer?

Transfers create duplicates. You import from Google, but some of those contacts were already on your SIM. Saropa handles this:
